Joint program with employers (for employees)
The Hewlett-Packard Japan Health Insurance Society provides periodic health checkups as a joint program with individual employers
Eligible persons
- Insured employees under 35 years of age (those employed as of April 1 each year)
 Health checkups at partner medical care institutions
- Insured employees aged 35 or older (those employed as of April 1 each year)
 A complete checkup is required in place of a periodic health checkup.
 The company provides a subsidy of 10,000 yen in addition to the Health Insurance Society’s subsidy for complete checkups.
- * Ages here refer to the age of the insured person or dependent as of the birthday during the Health Insurance Society’s fiscal year (April 1 - March 31).

 A complete checkup is required in place of a periodic health checkup.
 The company provides a subsidy of 10,000 yen in addition to the Health Insurance Society’s subsidy for complete checkups.

- * The Health Insurance Society subsidy amount for a complete checkup is the maximum checkup cost minus the copayment.
- * You may not undergo an additional complete checkup during the same fiscal year in which you underwent a complete checkup through the joint program with the employer.
 (Example: After a change in your insurance program from an insured employee to a voluntarily and continuously insured person)
- * No subsidy is provided for secondary exams following  a complete checkup for dependents.
 
How to undergo the checkup
- Insured persons who are employees should apply in accordance with the instructions provided in the notice of periodic health checkups from the employer.
- Those who are voluntarily and continuously insured persons as of April 1 should apply with reference to the notice sent from Nihon Kenshin Zaidan. Those who became voluntarily and continuously insured persons on or after April 2 should apply with Nihon Kenshin Zaidan (Kenshin Club) directly by telephone or on the appointment Web.
- Dependents should apply with reference to the notice of family checkups sent from Nihon Kenshin Zaidan to their home address, specifying when making the appointment that the  appointment is for a complete checkup.

- A voluntarily and continuously insured person who has undergone a complete checkup through the joint program with the employer may not undergo an additional complete checkup during the same fiscal year.
- Health checkups are available only to those who are eligible as insured persons (including voluntarily and continuously insured persons) or dependents on the date of the checkup.

Cervical cancer/breast cancer screening is available as an optional exam.

Insured persons, dependent spouses, and dependents aged 40 or older
Subsidy amount
The entire amount is subsidized by the Health Insurance Society (copayment applies to any exams other than those specified).

Subsidy amounts
- * The cost of designated exams is fully subsidized by the Health Insurance Society.
No subsidy is provided for secondary exams.
- * Dependent spouses aged 35 or older can receive cost assistance for a complete checkup.

How to undergo the checkup, etc.
- * Notices to dependents will be sent by mail in sequential order from the Hewlett-Packard Japan Health Insurance Society’s subcontractor Nihon Kenshin Zaidan to each insured person’s home address.

- * If you have undergone a residents’ health checkup provided by the municipality of residence due to the inability to undergo a health checkup at a medical care institution contracted with Nihon Kenshin Zaidan, you can receive up to 30,000 yen in assistance with the cost by entering the required information in the Request for Assistance with Family/Resident Examination Costs and submitting the required documents.
